Yip Man é um dos maiores artistas marciais de todos os tempos. O chinês acabou herdando um pouco da fama de seu mais notável aluno, a lenda Bruce Lee. O mestre Man vem de umas linhagens mais antigas das artes marciais. Ele, aos 13 anos, foi o último aluno de Chan Wah-Shun. Um dos maiores estudiosos do Wing Chun, um estilo de Kung Fu praticado no sul da China. Yip acabou treinou com diversos mestes em Hong Kung por quase uma década antes de fundar sua escola de artes marciais.
Em 1953, com apenas 13 anos, Bruce Lee começou a treinar com Yip. Ele era considerado um dos alunos mais aplicados e inteligentes. Bruce Lee não só responsável pela fama do mestre.
A estrela de cinema espalhou pelo mundo um dos métodos mais eficazes e didáticos de como ensinar Kung Fu. Bruce Lee acabou visitando seu velho mestre em 1972 pouco antes de sua morte, apenas sete meses antes da morte de seu mais notório aprendiz. O mestre se foi com 79 anos vítima do câncer.
Sua história ficou popular com uma série de filmes, que foram lançados a partir de 2008.

Yip Man is one of the greatest martial artists of all time. The Chinese ended up inheriting some of the fame of his most notable student, the legend Bruce Lee. Master Man comes from older lines of martial arts. He, at 13, was Chan Wah-Shun’s last student. One of the greatest scholars of Wing Chun, a style of Kung Fu practiced in southern China. Yip ended up training with several masters in Hong Kung for almost a decade before founding his martial arts school.
In 1953, at the age of 13, Bruce Lee started training with Yip. He was considered one of the most applied and intelligent students. Bruce Lee is not only responsible for the master’s fame.
The movie star spread around the world one of the most effective and didactic methods of teaching Kung Fu. Bruce Lee ended up visiting his old master shortly before his death.
Yip Man died in 1972, just seven months before the death of his most notorious apprentice. The master left at 79 with cancer.
His story became popular with a number of films, which were released in 2008.
